Irrfan Khan real name is Sahabzade Irfan Ali Khan.



Hailing from a village named Tonk in Jaipur. The actor belong to a zamindar family which has some royal connection and has two siblings. His father always wanted him to join his family business and we are so glad he didn't.

When he arrived in Bombay, he worked as a air conditioner repairman. One of the first houses he visited to repair a air conditioner was the house of superstar Rajesh Khanna.



The first Bollywood actor to star in two films that won the Academy Award for Best Director (Slumdog Millionaire (2008) and Life of Pi (2012)). Both films also won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography and Best Original Score.

Wife Sutapa is a dialogue writer in films.



Irfan had turned down many roles for various reason. Some of them went to steller hits. He turned down good role in Matt Damon's part in 'Interstellar',lead role in Mira Nair's The Reluctant Fundamentalist, Tezaab - Acid of Love, important role in Anurag Kashyap's "Black Friday"
