Failed to deliver on promise - Why Narendra Modi is a regular politician with great marketing skills?

In 2014, Modi wave had drawn every political opponent literally. Every other man fighting on BJP symbol won election despite having no achievements. Whole Hindi heartland was feeling charisma of Mr. Modi. I have spent three year in Gujarat from 2011 to 2014. People had great respect for Mr. Modi in Gujarat even then too. There is a big difference in handling a country with a great diversity than a state of mere 6 Cr people. Mr. Modi came with lots of promise and promise to complete all promises with magic winds in his rhetoric in election rallies.

He has come a long way, had taken some bold and controversial move, initiate some good schemes, made some blunder. But still he is most popular leader all over Hindi Heartland.

BJP government has started many schemes with great marketing and grand openings. Today we decided to analyses where they lay today. Let’s not talk about demonetization which already proven a big mistake even though government is in complete denial mode. They can say that winning election is the proof that people are happy with demonetization and GST.

Skill India

PM Modi’s flagship program skill India is suffering from poor planning, less placement rate. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)  has failed to achieve objective. The wire has done a complete reporting. Spending over 1500 cr in skilling over 15 lakh people because only 12% of the 15 lac able to get in to jobs. Job generation rate, poor training and too short duration of course are probable reason of this failure. Government must know that if she trained 15 lac people, they would require jobs too.

The Prasad panel lumps the PMKVY scheme in with past UPA government initiatives such as the STAR scheme (carried out in 2013).

“As we have seen, out of 18.03 lakh persons trained under PMKVY in 2015-16, only 12.4% persons were placed. Similarly, under the STAR scheme, out of 14.15 lakh persons trained and certified in 2014-15 only 8.5% persons were placed. Government of India provided Rs 1000 crore under STAR and Rs 1500 crore under PMKVY.” The Wire

Make in India

Make in india (MII) was launched with grand event. MII was promoted by supporter of Mr Modi as great initiative. Many experts believe that time we had already lost bus to china in manufacturing.  Apple or MI may have setup manufacturing plants but overall no positive impact is seen. FDI in flow was increase since Modi regime. But manufacturing attract very little.

$40 billion that India attracted by way of FDI during the financial year 2015-16, did not go into manufacturing, thereby putting a question mark over the efficacy of the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The data show that during 2015-16, the first full financial year of the Modi government, three non-manufacturing sectors – services, computer software and hardware, and trading – attracted more than 41.5% of the FDI inflow, whereas core manufacturing sectors such as automobiles, chemicals, power, pharma and construction got only 14% of the FDI.

The data further show that apart from the aforementioned non-manufacturing sectors, hotels and tourism and telecommunications were the others areas that saw foreign investors pumping in money.

Job generation 

BJP used to accuse congress led UPA for jobless growth. Unemployment rate has risen from 4.9% to 5.0% since NDA came to power

At a rally in Agra in 2013, Narendra Modi, then campaigning for the position of Prime Minister, had said the BJP would create 10 million jobs: “If BJP comes to power, it will provide one crore jobs which the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government could not do despite announcing it before the last Lok Sabha polls,” the newspaper DNA had quoted Modi in a November 2013.

Read report of HT and India tv, despite visible impact in job generation people still deny to believe it. 63% people says there are enough job created. Being popular is a different thing but stats can’t lie –
